One apostille, no embassy
If the receiving country belongs to the Hague Apostille Convention, Global Affairs Canada issues an apostille certificate — and your document is ready to use there. No embassy or consulate step.
We get your Canadian document — usually an RCMP criminal record check — apostilled by Global Affairs Canada and accepted across the Hague Convention. You mail it in; we handle the federal process.
Document authentication confirms a Canadian document is genuine, by verifying the seal and signature of the authority that issued it — so it can be trusted outside Canada.
An apostille does this in one step. It is recognised between all members of the Hague Apostille Convention, which Canada joined in January 2024 — so a document carrying an apostille is accepted in any member country with no further embassy legalisation.
Which path your document takes depends on where you are sending it. We confirm the right one for you before you pay.

If the receiving country is not a member, the document is authenticated and then legalised at that country's embassy or consulate in Canada before it is accepted.
