How the package works

Five steps from your appointment to your FBI Identity History Summary — and we carry four of them.

    Book your appointment

    Choose any of our 14 locations across Ontario and Alberta. Walk in with your ID.

  2. 2

    Live-Scan FD-258 card

    We capture your fingerprints electronically and print the FD-258/FD-1164 card on the spot — rolled and flat impressions.

  3. 3

    We submit & pay the FBI

    We complete and submit your FBI application, pay the processing fee, and seal everything into a pre-stamped envelope.

  4. 4

    You mail the package

    Drop the sealed envelope in the mail via your preferred courier, then send us the tracking number.

  5. 5

    Your IdHS comes back

    The FBI returns your Identity History Summary — a soft copy by email, then the hard copy by mail.

When your result arrives

  1. Day 0

    FBI receives your card

    The processing clock starts once your envelope reaches the FBI.

  2. 5–10 days

    Soft copy, by email

    Your Identity History Summary is usually issued 5 to 10 days after the FBI receives your fingerprint card. We email it to you as soon as it arrives.

  3. ~2 weeks

    Hard copy, by mail

    The printed hard copy typically arrives around two weeks after the soft copy is issued.

Times are FBI estimates and can vary. Sending us your tracking number lets us follow your package and chase the result if it runs long.

What to bring

Bring two valid pieces of government-issued identification — a passport is highly recommended. That is everything we need from you to capture your card and prepare your package.

  • A valid passport (highly recommended)
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Any other valid government-issued photo ID

What you’ll receive: your FBI Identity History Summary

The Identity History Summary (IdHS) is your official FBI record — a US police certificate confirming whether the FBI holds any arrest history on file. It is requested for your own review for immigration, work, licensing or travel.

  • Soft copy, emailed first

    We forward the FBI’s electronic summary the moment it lands.

  • Official hard copy follows

    The printed summary arrives by mail about two weeks later.

  • A recognised US clearance

    The IdHS is accepted as proof of your FBI record for official processes.
